DMA Elections / Editor of Infobox

Well, I'm very pleased to say that at the beginning of March, I was successfully elected to the UK DMA's Email Marketing Council as a full council member. I have served on this Council, and specifically on the Events and Communications Hub, for the past year as a co-opted member and over this past year we have achieved many things including launching the EMC's monthly newsletter, Infobox. I am also happy to announce that I am now officially the Editor of Infobox. Infobox is open to all - both non members and members of the DMA, so please sign up to it. Tamara Gielen's 'Be Relevent' Blog

Well...some exciting news. At the EEC conference in San Diego I met up (finally) with Tamara Gielen. We've been corresponding by email now for 3 years and so it was good to finally meet her in person. Anyhow - the end result is that she has asked me to be a co-blogger on her blog 'Be Relevent'. As many of you know, this blog is one of (if not THE) most popular email marketing blogs around. Since starting the blog she has been asked to speak at events globally, due to the exposure she has received from her blog - as well as getting great job offers. Email Standards Project Launch

The Email Standards Project has finally launched - on my birthday too I might add. This is pretty exciting news and if all goes well it may make a very difference to designers and marketers of email marketing. What are they about? In their words: "The Email Standards Project works with email client developers and the design community to improve web standards support and accessibility in email. Our goal is to help designers understand why web standards are so important for email, while working with email client developers to ensure that emails render consistently. This is a community effort to improve the email experience for both designers and readers alike." They have a heap of reports on the current state of email clients such as AOL, Yahoo, Gmail and the likes which are free to view.
